Gosh I love oat milk! Pictured above in an iced coffee latte!
When I was a kid (cue story-time ala "I walked 20 km in the snow to get to school") I used to spend a long time popping almonds out of their skins post-blanching to prepare them for our homemade almond milk. You kids today have it so easy! ha! Check out this suuuuper simple and hecking affordable oat milk recipe!
4 cups water
1 cup rolled oats
pinch of salt
1 tsp vanilla (optional)
1 tsp maple syrup (optional)
1. Blend all ingredients together
2. Strain using a clean tea towel or cloth bag (not cheesecloth, this is too thin)
3. Refrigerate and enjoy!
* Makes 1 litre of oat milk. I try to drink it within 7-10 days (who am I kidding, I make this every other day)
Enjoy! Let me know what you like to use this in if you make it! I find it works great in baking recipes and over cereal as well!
