What do you do with tofu?!

BBQ homemade vegan tofu on toast
Tofu can be a scary ingredient to work with if you're new to plant-based eating! It is basically a flavour sponge, but HOW to get the flavour in there is the tricky bit. In this video I walk you through some tips and tricks for flavouring, freezing and cooking your tofu!

Marinade #1 - BBQ-style with fridge condiments
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tbsp soy sauce (gluten-free if needed) or coconut aminos
- 2 tbsp ketchup (or 1 tbsp tomato paste)
- 2 tbsp maple syrup
- 1 tsp apple cider vinegar
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp nutritional yeast
- black pepper
- hot sauce or sriracha (optional)

Marinade #2 - Fresh, summery lemon + basil
- zest from 1 lemon
- juice from 1 lemon
- 2 tsp dried basil
- 2 tsp garlic powder
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- salt

Instructions for any marinade:
1. Whisk ingredients to combine.
2. Dunk cut tofu pieces in marinade and poke gently with fork.
3. Place marinated tofu pieces into a ziploc - laying flat - pouring in extra marinade at the end.
4. Seal and freeze!
5. To reheat: I usually cook from frozen, in a covered pan with some oil - Flipping frequently, until browned and cooked throughout!

If you do a bulk tofu prep, you've always got it in your freezer to use on toast, pastas, salads, pizzas, or any place you want! Enjoy!
